The EMET Surf Home Screen is a multifunctional and adaptable environment designed for comfortable interaction with content and apps on Android TV/Google TV. The interface focuses on simplicity, convenience, and personalization, providing quick access to your favorite resources.
Main Elements of the Home Screen
1. Top Menu Bar
Allows quick switching between main sections:
- AI Agent (Lixie) — a virtual media assistant and guide in the EMET world. Lixie can be connected to various language and multimodal models (e.g., ChatGPT), allowing it to handle a wide range of tasks and be customized for specific scenarios — from recommendations to interactive dialogues.
- Search – a universal bar for text input or voice search for quick access to TV channels, movies, series, sports broadcasts, and other categories. Also serves as an address bar for opening websites, media portals, and searching for information online.
- Send & Cast – upload files and stream content to TV from other devices.
- Add-ons – list of installed add-ons and stores where you can find new add-ons (databases, content sources, recommendation services, utilities, etc.).
- Notifications – displays important notifications, such as alerts about new episodes, updates, or special offers.
- Widgets – supports Android widgets (clock, weather, etc.).
2. Navigator Section (Discover)
Located under the menu bar and provides an interactive content catalog with convenient filtering, recommendations, and search.
Main categories:
- News - news aggregation with personalization
- Live TV – live television broadcasts
- Movies, Series, Anime – curated content collections by genre
- Kids – safe content section for children
- Sports – live sports broadcasts and recordings
- Music - music albums, artists, playlists, and recommendations
- Social Media – easy access to social platforms with video and audio content
- Radio – streaming radio stations: music, news, podcasts
3. Continue Watching
A block on the home screen displaying content you haven’t finished. Allows quick access to the release page and continuation from where you left off — no extra steps needed.
4. Favorite Sites and Media Portals
Pin your favorite sites and media portals for quick access and open browsing history.
5. Applications
Pin frequently used apps for quick access.
📌 Adding Apps:
- Click “Add (+)”.
- Select the desired app.
- To view all installed apps – click “All”.
6. Games
If your Android TV supports games, you can place here:

☁ Cloud gaming services (Google Stadia, NVIDIA GeForce Now)
7. Content Recommendations
Displays favorite and recently watched TV channels as well as recommended movies, shows, and videos based on your preferences.
8. File Manager
Quick access to files and file management.
9. Settings
Located at the bottom of the screen:
- Account & Profiles - account and profile settings
- System – quick access to core Android TV settings: network, sound, display, and device management
- Configuration – import/export configuration, change interface, and add add-ons via promo codes
- Launcher (Home) – customize the main screen grid layout
- Browser – choose a search engine, connect scripts and manage page styles via EMET Script, adjust other browser settings
- File Manager – manage local and remote storage
- Media Player – video, audio, and streaming playback settings
- Ace Stream – manage Ace Stream P2P server settings
- Screensaver – select and configure screensaver
- Rewards – generate promo codes for referral programs, view status and statistics
- About – app information, version, instructions, and send error reports
Configuring the Home Screen Grid
Choosing Blocks and Their Positions
- Go to “Settings” → “Home”.
- Select the block you want to enable, disable, or customize its appearance on the home screen.
- Set its position in the grid (move up or down)
Customizing Card Appearance in Blocks
Card appearance can be adjusted with various parameters:
✔ Change card size in a block (increase or decrease)
Flexible customization:
Allows manual adjustment of:
- Card corner radius
- Spacing between cards (for all blocks except recommendations)
✔ Preset styles (only for recommendation blocks):
Uses fixed parameters with ready-made presets:
- Display style: vertical, horizontal
- Description placement: fixed position; under the card; show for all cards
This approach allows you to personalize the interface’s appearance, making it convenient and pleasant for you.
Adding, Moving, or Removing Cards in Blocks
Adding cards to the home screen:
- In the “Discover” section, click “+” and select the desired section.
- In the “Sites and Media Portals” block, click “+” to add favorite resources.
- In the “Applications” block, click “+” and choose from installed apps.
📌 Alternative method:
In any section, highlight the app or site you want to add to the home screen. Long press the “OK” button and select “Add to Home Screen”.
Moving or removing cards from the home screen:
Long press a card.
Drag it to the desired location or select “Remove from Home Screen”.
Recommendation:
To set EMET Surf as your default launcher, you can remap the Home button on your remote using Button Mapper. This is the simplest and “safest” method we know so far.
